Pocket Packet - a Packet Radio Terminal Program for Pocket PCs (c) 2003-2006 by Stefan Dambeck Some facts: - at the moment only Kenwood TH-D7 and TM-D700 (with internal TASCO Modem) are supported - Only pure Terminal Mode with one channel and Monitor. No KISS/HOST Mode! - !NEW! Configuration now is possible via 2 small config files (located in /Program Files/PocketPacket/): ppconfig.txt structure: [CALL];[COM Port];[HFBAUD];[TX-Delay];[Frack-Time] e.g.: DC7DS;1;1200;30;1 lastconn.txt structure: [CALL]; always contains the call of the station connected at last - for operation a Nullmodem serialcable or a serial cradle w/ Nullmodem adaptor is required - sucessfully tested on: Yakumo Delta 300 GPS (WM2003) with TH-D7E Compaq IPAQ 3630 (PPC2002) with TM-D700E Compaq IPAQ 3870 (PPC2002) with TM-D700E !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Short Operating Instructions: ----------------------------- After installation there should be a shortcut under 'Programs'. The installation puts three files in the dir \Program Files\PocketPacket\ - pocpac.vb --> Programm Executable - ppconfig.txt --> Configfile - lastconn.txt --> last Call connected After hopefully having started the application successfully (Startup Config is shown as Message Box) the serial port isn't initialized yet. This happens by pressing the Button 'start'. You are not able to activate any functions without this init. When the 'start' button is pressed, the serial port and the TNC are initialized. Some messages are generated and shown in the monitor window. One simple way to test whether the init succeeded is to press the 'mycall' button, your own Call should be returned as result. By pressing the button '1' you can switch the Monitor window into a converse window, Monitor Mode gets deactivated. Using the button 'connect' you may now establish a connection. On completion you can input further commands in the input line beneath the convers window and send them by pressing the 'send' button or simply pressing Return. Most of the functions contained in the Menu bar should be self explaining as they are directly taken from the Kenwood TNC specs. Enjoy using Pocket Packet! 73 from Passau/Southern Germany Stefan Dambeck, DC7DS
